Every email gives the person a way to opt out. You do not have to build that.
#What the recipient sees
- Unsubscribe page: Unsubscribe? - Are you sure you want to unsubscribe? You will no longer receive messages from this host. They choose Yes, unsubscribe me or No, keep me subscribed. Afterwards: You have been unsubscribed.
- Email Preferences page: shows their current status and your name as host, with these choices: Re-subscribe to messages from you, Unsubscribe from you, or Unsubscribe from all hosts on Gig Game.
#What it means for you
- A contact's Subscription column shows their status. The statuses include Subscribed, Unsubscribed, Globally unsubscribed (they opted out of all hosts) and Bounced.
- People who have unsubscribed are not sent your messages.
- In a message's history, an Unsubscribed tab lists the people who opted out, and a Bounced tab lists addresses that could not be reached.
