Gig Game uses a few terms you may not have met before. Here they are in plain words, in the order you will probably run into them.

Gig Game terms
Term What it means
Host Hub The website where you manage everything: browse games, schedule events, build trivia, manage contacts, and manage your plan. It lives at giggame.app.
Game One of the games in the Browse Games, such as a trivia game or a bingo game. (You may see "application" or "app" in some places. It means the same thing.)
Event One session of a game in one place at one time. Each event has its own leaderboard, player list and QR code.
Host Console The control room for a running game, where you start, pace and manage it.
HUD The Heads Up Display: the big screen the room watches.
Player controller A player's own phone or tablet, used to take part in the game.
QR code The square code on the HUD that players scan with their phone camera to join.
Access code A short five-character code for an event. Players can type it at giggame.app/play instead of scanning the QR code.
Join page The page players land on after scanning the QR code or entering the access code, where they pick a name.
Player Someone taking part in your game from their own phone.
Player limit The number of players your plan allows in one game. The free plan allows 3.
Lead Information a player gives when they join, such as an email address or phone number, if you ask for it. See the Game Events articles for how to collect leads.
Trivia pack A set of trivia questions you build and publish, with rounds, themes and music.
Question catalog Your personal bank of trivia questions that you can reuse across packs.
AI tokens A balance you spend on AI features, such as writing trivia questions or making images. The games themselves work without tokens.
Plan Your subscription level. It sets your player limit.
