There are three paths. Nothing locks you in: you can start in one and use another later.
| Quick Trivia | Full builder, Automated | Full builder, Host Controlled | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | A game ready in minutes: a bar night, a class warm-up | A self-running show with an AI host that narrates | A serious reusable pack that you host live |
| Rounds | Always one | As many as you like (the builder's Rounds tab) | No Rounds tab: you run the show live |
| Time to first playable game | Minutes | Longer: more setup, plus AI build time if you use it | Moderate: more setup, but no AI build wait |
| Categories and difficulty | No (a straight sequence, and difficulty stays flat at Average) | Yes | Yes |
| Question types (Standard, Player Bluff, Majority Vote, Survey Says*) | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| AI host dialog and voice | No | Yes, using AI tokens | Not needed: you host |
| Custom theme screens, including AI video | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Cover image | Optional (a default cover is used) | Required to publish | Required to publish |
| Play as Automated (AI-run) | Yes | Yes, the point of this path | Yes, but without generated narration |
| Play as Hosted (you run it live) | Yes | Yes | Yes, the point of this path |
| Share in the Marketplace | Yes, once published | Yes | Yes |
*Player Bluff plays like Standard but framed as a bluffing round. Majority Vote and Survey Says have no single correct answer: players guess the crowd favorite or the full ranked order instead. See question types.
#In plain words
- Quick Trivia is a deliberately simple version of the builder. It gives up categories, rounds, difficulty tiers and AI voice in return for speed. See Quick Trivia.
- Automated uses the full builder and ends with an AI host that narrates and reads every question out loud, so nobody has to run the show live. It is good for kiosks, streams and unattended play.
- Host Controlled uses the same builder, but you run the show. You control when a question is revealed and when to move on. Publishing is instant, and no AI voice tokens are spent.
#Why choose Automated
- No one has to run the show live: put it on a screen and play.
- The game mode is an automated, streamed game show, best for hands-off play.
#Why choose Host Controlled
- You drive the pacing, answers and reveals live.
- No AI voice tokens are spent at all.
- Publishing is instant, every time you tweak the pack.
- Once published, you can launch the pack again from My Trivia Packs whenever you like, or share it in the Marketplace so other hosts can run it too.
#The full builder, step by step
Automated and Host Controlled use the same builder, so the steps are the same until the end.
- Build up your Question Catalog. Everything you save there stays available for every pack you build.
- Create a pack from your catalog questions and choose how you will host it.
- Shape the show: rounds (Automated only: as many as you want, each with its own point value and optional point decay), categories, a theme and custom screens, music and a cover image.
- Build and publish. For Automated this is where you choose how much AI content to generate, with a token cost estimate shown first. Generation runs as a background job with live progress, then publishes automatically if you asked it to.
- Play it and, if you like, share it so other hosts can subscribe and rate it.
